The Best Music Books of 2015

Glad you listed the McGarrigle book...immediately found and purchased it at Amazon US. I spend hours in the stacks of The Strand bookstore here in NYC, but unless you know which needle in the haystack to look for, it's easy to miss them all. You've cost me a pretty penny since you began your column; thanks on one hand and I curse you with the other. ee

Thanks, Easy Ed. I hear you on The Strand; I used to love the John Street Annex because it was a little less overstocked, but it didn't stick around long; don't know about the outpost that used to be up CPS. The Strand used to be a destination, but I quickly learned to take a list with me, but even that didn't always help. I spend more time at Book Culture these days and Upper Westsider Books (as much because I've found albums there that I couldn't locate elsewhere, and in the days when they still sold them pretty cheaply, though you can still find bargains).

Thanks for the tip on McGarrigle.

Funny you mention UWBooks. Drove down there a few weeks ago and after a half hour of driving around looking for a parking space I gave up; went South and parked free on Bleeker for yet another trip to the aforementioned Strand. But Book Culture is a new one for this transplanted Californian, so forgive my lack of knowledge about such things. If I didn't have 14 books already sitting by my bedside, I'd head down to Morningside Heights today. Again..I curse you in advance for the separation of me from my money.
