From Earl Scruggs to Bela Fleck: Let Us Now Praise the Banjo

The article makes me wonder: Who is the Jimi Hendrix of the banjo?

Maybe Bill Keith, who totally re-wrote 5 string banjo technique. Or  Pat Cloud a jazzer, Or Bela Fleck an omnivore, Or Noam Pilkeny. But why should we compare?   Comparisons are odious and odiferous.

Not to mention  mephetic, fetid, noisome and malodorous!

(Tee Hee)  and yet you mentioned those qualities.  Reeking, rank, miasmic, musty, fusty etc., etc.  And my favorite "pongy". English has such a rich vocabulary. ;)

Pongy? That's a new one to me. Good craic!

I once had an Irish session band known as the Craic-heads.
