New Collection Reveals John Prine Beyond Words

Artist John Prine

Really nice review Henry...obviously a book to have...Prine is a national treasure...love the line about inventing the "atom bomb by mistake".  Funny, precious guy...

Thanks, Jim.

Excellent review Henry of what sounds like a must-have for any Prine fan. The Prine quotes you included were a wonderful tease. I especially loved your assessment of that line from "Angel in Montgomery" where you said it "...describes perfectly the ragged ennui imbuing the lives of anyone running the treadmill of work and love.." Amen to that. There is, however, one correction you might want to make. In quoting the lines from "Hello in There" I think it's "old rivers grow wilder everyday."

Thanks very much, Dennis. Made the correction, too.
