Ray Benson with David Menconi: "Comin' Right At Ya"

@carrigan: You cost me a fortune with your damn column. With 16 books on the nightstand currently awaiting their turn, it seems this is another I'll need to track down. I believe Ray was a Cheltanham kid, a suburb just outside the city limits of Philly. Some fifteen years ago at an ACM dinner he and I reminisced about growing up there in the sixties, and I probably may be the last person alive (who remembers) seeing the band at a coffeehouse called Hecate's Circle in Germantown...a Philly neighborhood...in 1970. How many years ago is that? I need an abacus.

Like Ed, I've got books waiting to be read, but this one is definitely going in the rotation, and probably jumping ahead in the line...great review...

Henry, I got a copy from David at IBMA WOB in Raleigh, came home and started reading it and could not put it down. Kept me up all night! Sometimes it is almost as if Ray Benson is just rambling on right in your ear; I loved the style in which he wrote. And what was so apparent was that he has truly been the driving force behind keeping this band going all these years. Definitely a great read!
