The Tax Man's Taken All My Dough

Roll on with it Ed...it won't matter to the converted but it's your column...

According to Giuliani and Christie, we should appluad his genius and skill at not paying...fascinating reasoning...guess that's a 1 % perspective...Logan Pearsall Smith once said "It is the wretchedness of being rich that you have to live with other rich people"...so on a positive note,  I guess the rest of us have that going for us...

When Trump says "the system is rigged" it might just be the first truthful thing that came out of his mouth.  Does anyone truly believe he will eliminate the tax loopholes and bankruptcy laws (along with that gift of $14 million from daddy) that made him a "self-made  man"? Yes, the system is rigged and he's living proof.

"The rich get richer and the poor get sorer"

-Ian Hunter

I'm gonna go burn all my U2 albums. Wait a minute. I don't own any.

When I got my last phone, Apple automatically gave me what was at the time, U2's latest record...it just materialized on my phone one day...it's still there...I've never listened to it...I may have one other U2 album on vinyl, the one that has "Pride" on it, I think Eno produced it...I'd be glad to send that to you if you feel the need to burn something Hal...

Bono is another one of those one word name guys like Sting...I always find that comical, and I am not sure why...

My original ND name was just "Jack".

And that did make me laugh...perhaps you should return to just Jack...actually I wasn't referring to when people use one name for economy...more when people use one name due to "egonomy"...

When musicians and athletes do it, it implies something larger than life...Pele...Shaq...Sting...Bono...Madonna (which is her real name at least) I get it, but then again it seems comical too...like when athletes refer to themselves in the 3rd person...I remember Ricky Henderson saying in an interview once, "Dang Ricky, you're good!"  That stuff cracks me up...

Jack 2.0 Billion?

Donovan?

Dylan

Dennis! Where the hell is Dennis?

Cher!

Good Question, where is Dennis...I always figured Donovan just thought his last name didn't sound good...Leitch...sounds like Leech...

Dylan...did he adopt that or did we give him that?

Jack 2.0 Billion...I like it...you too, can pay no taxes!

Here I am. I've been on vacation for a week and am now trying to catch up at work and on my ND related emails and am generally failing. Speaking of Donovan though, my concert is coming up this Friday and I'm getting kind of stressed about it since some of you expect some sort of report. We'll see...

As for Trump's latest sleze report it continues to amaze me how he can turn everything into a grammer school taunt that boils down to, "The Clintons are worse than me!" I'm sure you heard how one of our (Washingnton state's) dubious Republican congresswoman dismissed Trump's sexual predator comments as being said when he was a Democrat and channeling Bill Clinton. Talk about spin artists. They really are unbelievably sleazy.

The latest words of wisdom from Trump: "And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything... Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything."   Can you defend that Pence? Ryan? Cruz? Rubio?

"I've got to use tic tacs, just in case I start kissing her".  Suave!

And just when you thought he could go no lower...you find out that when he was not running for President, he was actually much worse...

Trump: "I apologize if anyone was offended."    Who could possibly be offended?  You gotta love his canned half-assed "did I do something wrong" not- really-an-apology apology!

No Depression-I came for the mediocre music coverage, I stayed for the sophomoric political rants!

Who cares?

My sincerest apologies.

Guess I might have to stay away from ND until December...

Just sayin:

Well this is a little awkward. With the leaked 1995 Trump tax returns 'scandal' focused on the billionaire's yuuge "net operating loss" and how it might have 'legally' enabled him to pay no taxes for years, we now discover none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton utilized a $700,000 "loss" to avoid paying some taxes in 2015.

Finally, as we noted previously, the NYT itself is also perfectly happy to take advantage of the US tax to minimize the amount of money it pays to the government: in 2014 the company got a tax refund of $3.6 million despite having a $29.9 million pretax profit.

Mike, don't confuse us with actual facts!
