The Tedeschi Trucks Band West Coast Tour plays Seattle and Los Angeles

The Tedeschi Trucks Band closed out their summer touring with some dates along the West Coast with stops in Arizona, Oregon, Washington and California. With their stop in Seattle, Washington, they played at McCaw Hall on the grounds of the Seattle Center, home of the iconic Space Needle.

McCaw Hall is the home of the Pacific Northwest Ballet and its not that often a rockin’ blues band plays this venue. That being said, the Tedeschi Trucks Band packed the building with fans eager to hear their brand of electric guitar blues.

In a set full of covers, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks and their band cranked out an awesome set and some excellent playing. Derek Trucks is one of the most talented bottleneck guitar players out there today, and Susan Tedeschi can rip it just as hard as Derek with some amazing flourishes of her own.

Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers opened the evening with a nice set of their rootsy California infused blues.

In Los Angeles, Tedeschi Trucks Band had two sold-out shows at the legendary Orpheum Theatre. Night one opened with Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers as they did throughout this West Coast swing. On night two, it was just the Tedeschi Trucks band providing all the fireworks.

Playing two sets, Tedeschi Trucks Band featured many of their own songs with a nice mix of covers. Joining them in the second set was Jimmy Vivino, band leader for Conan O’Brien and all-around L.A. guitar legend.

The Tedeschi Trucks Band continues their 2016 tour schedule with a residency at the legendary Beacon Theatre in New York City for six nights starting on September 30th.
