Dead Winter Carpenters Release Dirt Nap EP, Begin Winter Tour
Recently featured on CMT Edge, the Dead Winter Carpenters have just released a new EP titled Dirt Nap in advance of a month-long Northwest tour. Available for “name your price” download on bandcamp.com, Dirt Nap is an exciting step for the alternative country/bluegrass band from North Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Members Jenni Charles, Bryan Daines, Jesse Dunn, Brian Huston, and Dave Lockhart are the masterminds behind genre-explorative tunes, crafted in a “studio in the woods” near the shores of Lake Tahoe. The quintet breathes life into a delightful range of instruments, from the usual fiddle, viola, and guitar, to the unexpected sitar and even the spoons.
Effortless five-part harmonies, capped off by the sweet, soft voice of Charles, bring a surprising smoothness to the tone of the entire EP. Each track tells a story, just as each instrument and voice coalesces into the band’s rich and textured sound.
Dead Winter Carpenters will be playing Winter Wonder Grass Festival in Avon, Colo., along with Leftover Salmon, The Infamous Stringdusters, and many others. Visit the band’s website for more tour dates and links to previous releases.
