Win an autographed copy of the new Bunkhouse record from the Jayhawks
NOTE: This contest is now closed. Congratulations to our randomly chosen winners: Pete Bilderback and Teddy Ray. Stay tuned to our contests page for other upcoming contests. Thanks to everyone who entered!
The Jayhawks have, without question, been one of the most influential and highly respected bands in modern Americana/indie roots music. From their 1986 self-titled debut (aka the Bunkhouse record), through their mid-’00s hiatus and the work Mark Olson and Gary Louris have done since then, it’s safe to say the band has produced some of the finest music in this genre.
As mentioned above, it all started with their self-titled debut, which was released on a small indie label (well before indie was mainstream) called Bunkhouse Records. It was recorded on reel-to-reel tape and didn’t exactly reach the widest possible audience. Now, though, Lost Highway records has picked it back up, digitally remastered those reel-to-reel tapes, and re-issued the album, including an 11-page booklet designed by Mark Olson. We’re teaming up with the fine folks at Lost Highway to give a copy of the album on CD and vinyl to two lucky No Depression members. This special prize will also be autographed by Mark Olson, Gary Louris, and Marc Perlman.
