James G. Carlson

Since 2007 I have worked as freelance music journalist, reviewing albums and interviewing bands from a number of genres and subgenres. While my taste in my music is quite broad and eclectic, including everything from Delta blues and '50s and '60s jazz to punk and grindcore, roots music happens to be one of my favorite areas. I especially appreciate folk, folk-punk, bluegrass, dark roots, gothic country, rockabilly, and psychobilly.
