One of our recent obsessions is singer-songwriter Carli Naff, who has burst onto the scene like the powerful musical energy that she is. Late this Summer we saw (and heard) the artist releasing her successful single and video for “Clean,” which stopped us dead in our tracks. One of the best vocalists we’ve heard this year she came out of left field and has been gaining momentum ever since. Taken from her debut EP, “Horrible Talker,” in which the title was inspired by a vocal injury, Naff went to a very personal place to craft the tracks on the record, and that is evident with just one listen and view of “Clean.”
While in production of the record, Carli was approached by local guitarist Russell Castiglione after (almost) making him cry at an open mic performance. He and long-time band-mate Austin Deyo (drums) enthusiastically became the first members of Naff’s band. They were later joined by Naff’s close friends, Alex Lemonier (keys) and Kallan Campbell (bass) to round out the band.
As 2018 comes quickly to a close, it’s safe to say that Carli Naff is an artist we will be looking forward to in the New Year.
