    Singer-songwriter Scott McQuaig has just released his full-length country-Americana record A Song Away from You.

    In this exquisitely produced album,  strikes a nice balance with seven original numbers and three covers of his favorite songs. “Honky Tonk O’Clock” kicks off the album with a high-energy and playful offering from the artist. This song is the perfect introduction to his classic Americana style of songwriting and performing. There is something quite nostalgic and charming about the lyrical composition in “Honky Tonk O’Clock”, and McQuaig’s engaging performance will have you up and dancing on your feet in no time.

    “As Long as I’m Dreaming” is one of the more introspective songs on the record. In this number there is a distinctive whimsical feel that is reminiscent of folk-Americana artists such as The Everly Brothers and Hank Williams. The expressive guitar sounds in this song also recall the likes of iconic guitarists such as Santo and Jonny, to name but a few.

    To finish off the album, “Wide River to Cross” brings an inspirational energy to the mix,an uplifting end to a sophisticated and well-rounded record. The production aesthetic in the song has a beautiful balance, which brings out McQuaig’s raw performance and the warm guitar tones perfectly.
