Kurt Wagner & Cortney Tidwell’s ‘Wild Mountain Berries’ is NPR’s Song of the Day
As a follow-up to my November 27 post, it appears as though NPR Music has caught up Kurt Wagner and Cortney Tidwell.
While I never counted to be sure, theoretically it’s possible for NPR to have 365 Songs of the Day during a year, so it is not that unusual for an artist to get that one day nod. But what makes Kurt Wagner & Cortney Tidwell’s ‘Wild Mountain Berries’ so unusual is that it’s only available in the US on iTunes — or as an import (CD and vinyl).
So kudos to NPR Music in it’s small way to help get American music by American artists released in America.
While Kurt & Cortney had a nice European tour performing songs from the album and other forgotten American music, the clip above is from their only American appearance — so far — at Betty’s in Nashville.
