buckner played for $5 at my favorite venue in b-town last night, the bishop. it’s a shame only about 50 people were wise enough to go out on a monday night and catch his powerful performance. to me, there’s just a few solo performers that can create such a large sound by themselves on stage and he is certainly one of them. he rotated among three guitars playing 6-7 songs at a time with no breaks between them. he must have played 30 songs from his entire catalog plus a few i’ve never heard before. he is still a force of nature.
