Dylan Digs Up Demos, Goes Mono
The ninth installment of Bob Dylan’s Bootleg Series will be a collection of demos the singer recorded in the mid-60s for publishers Leeds and Whitmark, according to the Dylan fan site Isis. Although no official announcement has been made, the site said the releases will come in October.
The site says Dylan is also preparing an eight-CD set of his early albums in their original mono mixes — from Bob Dylan to John Wesley Harding. The set will include new liner notes by critic Greil Marcus and come housed in paper reproductions of the original sleeves. It’s the first time Dylan’s early albums will be officially available on CD in mono.
