Near the end of Aaron Lee Tasjan’s new album, Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan!, comes “Not That Bad,” a song about reframing your view.
It’s one example among of many on the album of Tasjan taking a look inside and sharing with us what he sees and how it colors his outlook on the world around him.
“When someone has a perception of you that feels like it doesn’t ring true to who you really are or what your experience has been … it can be easy to start questioning yourself,” Tasjan says. “This song is also a little bit about trying to catch myself in that bad pattern and try a little tenderness instead.”
Below, he performs the song for No Depression readers, wearing the handmade Tasjan! Tasjan! Tasjan! sweater vest featured on the album’s cover.
