• Rosie and Me acoustic folk from Brazil

    In the process of checking out some internet music sites to put my own tunes, I started browsing SoundCloud.com. There’s not a ton of acoustic, alt.folk or alt.country music there. No Depression readers may find too much dance and trance and hiphop remix stuff. But if you stumble around there are some gems. One group I found is called Rosie and Me.

    Since they sing in English, I didn’t notice that they were from Curitiba, Brazil. Who knew. So if there’s a genre on No Depression for ‘South Americana’ they would slot in there. Their EP Bird and Whale is simple, happy music even to an old cynic like me. Acoustic-folk-pop. They have been signed to a label in Brazil but for now at least they can be supported from their website.
