CORY BRANAN, TALL GREEN GRASS
The only reason I’m posting this song is because I like it and I want to. There’s no new album, there’s no new single, and Cory’s not playing anywhere near me any time soon—I just really like this song a lot. If that’s not a good enough reason for you, you’re a dick.
Ok, and maybe I think if I post a good song that’s sort of about nature, I’m less likely to get killed by a rogue wave after yesterday’s post making light of two people getting murdered by the earth. Perhaps I should capitalize Earth. We cool now forces of nature? Cool.
You can stream and download this and handful of Cory’s other songs from the Reverb Nation widget below. Free, that’s a pretty good deal. Now, I’ll just sit here hoping Cory adds an LA date to his West Coast shows in June, and perhaps wonder whether or not I’ll drive to Bakersfield to see him if he doesn’t.
From what I hear, Cory’s actually got some new people helping him out, so it looks like he’ll finally get the push he deserves and more people will get to enjoy his music, which may well help heal this weird everything-is-all-wrong funk that’s settled across the country, or at least give it a better soundtrack.
You can get all your Cory Branan info on his Facebook page, and quite frankly, I’m glad to see Facebook is getting their artist pages up to the level of Myspace Music, because to be perfectly frank, the kind of music I like doesn’t exactly jive well with 5 year-old pictures of fake-baked sluts in trucker hats, Ed Hardy, and Dane Cook fan pages. Cory’s Myspace page has plenty of music and tour dates, but while you’re streaming Cory’s songs, an add may well pop up and ask you to join the Marines or buy boner pills, and just a word of advice, do not do both of these things together. That would be a total fucking disaster.
