FRESH TRACK: Jobi Riccio – “Final Movie Scene”

Tennessee-based singer-songwriter Jobi Ricco has released new single “Final Movie Scene,” a delicate ode to daydreaming and growing pains. “‘Final Movie Scene’ is a song about escaping,” says Riccio. “Whether it be into a fantasy version of your life or into another person or relationship. It speaks to the secret desire I think we all feel at some point to be swept out of our current reality and into something beautiful and all consuming to avoid examining hard things in our lives, all the while knowing it isn’t realistic or healthy. I was house sitting for several weeks by myself during a big snowstorm back in Colorado when I wrote ‘Final Movie Scene’ and I wanted to capture that feeling of isolation and fantasizing in a cinematic way in the production, drawing inspiration from songs such as ‘Exit Music (For a Film)’ by Radiohead.”
