    I certainly have no problem with Gillian Welch being recognized for her effort in Time The Revelator. She has never gotten the credit she and David Rawlings so richly deserve. Her Unique style and sound is truly mesmerizing. However my only thought is that it is only her third best effort. Just a humble opinion but to me her first, “Revival” has never been matched by anything she has done. Maybe it was because it was her first, maybe because i was so “shocked” by its bare beauty and sound. Maybe my decades have blended into more than one but i would consider “Blackjack David” by Dave Alvin as a worthy contender. That said, I love Gillian Welch and her message is powerful and thought provoking.
