Wrinkle Neck Mules – Let the Lead Fly
How many great albums are getting released this year!
Here’s another for you – entitled Let The Lead Fly it’s the new one from the Wrinkle Neck Mules another cracking record that’s going to be hard to separate from the pack of contenders for album of the year, the release date had been pushed back and you can now get your hands on it from October 20th – it’s well worth waiting for, in the interim you can get a listen below to a couple of tracks from the album the banjo driven Cracks and Seams and another album highlight One Hand in the Furnace.
The album is a true amalgam of genres with timely changes of pace and style which flow like quick silver through country, bluegrass and rock, all held together with strong lyrics, great vocals and instrumentation – if country music needs saving then these boys will surely play their part.
From the opening title track I knew I was going to love this long player, borrowing from a previous WNM release the album is full of swagger and honesty, plenty of foot tappers, bar-room blitz and twang, if you’re not familiar with their back catalogue ( The Wicks Have Met , Pull The Brake and Minor Enough ) this album will get you running to get hold of them.
The album is released on Bluerose Records in Europe and through Lower 40 Records in North America
