Lovelies of Psychedelic Folk, Glam Rock
I sure do love me some classic ’60s/’70 psychedelica folk glam rock. Love love love me some of that. Particularly the Skiffle inspired T.Rex and Syd Barret. Swoon. Hell, particularly the British psychedelica sound!
This morning, Children of the Revolution hummed in my ears, sending me into a tizzy flashback into (what I think was) my past life, and got me building myself another jango station devoted to these two and others.
So, here I am fulfilling this crave by putting these guys all in one place:
T.Rex – Children of the Revolution
Syd Barrett – Dark Globe
John’s Children – Desdemona
(This was the first band Marc Bolan was in that had any action.)
Sweet – Fox on the Run
The next two bands are utterly brilliant – Honeybus and Apple.
They should have made it big, but the Stones and the Beatles kinda took up too much room, making these guys kinda hang in the back of the scene. If you haven’t heard them, go out and find them. (Altho, here’s a sneak peak for ya.)
Honeybus – I Can’t Let Maggie Go”
Apple – Buffalo Billycan
Mott the Hoople – All the Young Dudes
Donovan – Hurdy Gurdy Man
…I could literally add a dozen more. But… I won’t. I’ll end with a special tribute to T.Rex:
