Hank Ballard, best-known for writing the early rock n roll smash The Twist, died March 2 after battling throat cancer. Ballard, 75, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
Rusty Draper, a country and pop singer whose hits included 1953s country top-10 Gamblers Guitar, died of pneumonia February 28. He was 80.
