What’s Old Is New Again

Last year, to celebrate his 90th birthday, Chuck Berry announced that he was making another album with some help from folks like Tom Morello and Gary Clark Jr. Pause to think about the boldness of creating a sizable chunk of great new art in celebration of having lived nearly a century. Berry passed from this Earth a few months ago, but the music remains, and that’s the truth and the glory of so much of American roots music. His Chuck record leads the pack this week, but there is plenty more to love.
