Old Salt Union Premiere Video for “Where I Stand”

Postmodern bluegrassers and 2015 FreshGrass Band Contest winners Old Salt Union are getting ready to release a new self-titled album, out August 4 via Compass Records. In advance of the album’s release, we’re premiering a brand new video for Old Salt Union tune “Where I Stand.”

The clip was shot in a small basement and features the band performing in a circle beneath a single lightbulb. The intimacy of the clip complements the immediacy of the song, which is driven by earnest vocals, fiery solos, and classical flourishes.

“This accurately depicts the intensity and passion we put into both our live shows and the rehearsals where we write the tunes,” vocalist/bassist Jesse Farrar says. “Our music wasn’t meant to be polished — it’s dusty, sweaty, and intense. I feel like [videographer/editor] SeanMac captured the music in its natural habitat.”
