Video Premiere: Frank Migliorelli and The Dirt Nappers “When The Circus Ends”
“When The Circus Ends”, a song written by Frank Migliorelli, recently garnered an Honorable Mention in American Songwriter Magazine’s Lyric Contest. Migliorelli says of the ballad, “I thought it would be fun to put out the tune as a free single and just record the song with the band without any pressure of putting out an album or big release. It’s just kind of a “thank you” to the people who follow us, and we love the idea of being able to easily put out new music.”
Along with the release, the band shot a music video, featuring some vintage circus footage and a claymation clown, who appears as Migliorelli’s alter ego during the song as he performs and transforms into a clown himself. “The song came about right around the time the Ringling Brothers and Big Apple Circuses announced their closings.” said Migliorelli “Using a broken down circus as a metaphor for a broken relationship, the tune captures the point in time where a couple has to face the fact that it’s time to pack it in. Ian Timothy’s animated clown fit perfectly with the mood of the tune.” “I kinda dug doing the clown makeup- but it was a little creepy- so I won’t be doing any kid’s birthday parties soon!” he added.
