Performers Announced for 2017 Americana Music Honors and Awards
With the end of August swiftly approaching, AmericanaFest and the Americana Music Honors and Awards are just around the corner. As the September 13 awards show approaches, the Americana Music Association has announced the lineup of performers for the 16th installment of the annual event.
Highlights from the list of announced performers include John Prine, Rhiannon Giddens, Jason Isbell, Margo Price, Graham Nash, and Van Morrison. The Americana All-Star Band, helmed by Buddy Miller, will back each performer and features Larry Campbell, Robbie Crowell, Jim Hoke, Jerry Pentecost, Chris Wood, and the McCrary Sisters.
Nominees and Lifetime Achievement honorees were announced earlier this summer. Sturgill Simpson’s three nods make him this year’s most nominated artist, while Iris DeMent and Graham Nash are among the artists set to receive Lifetime Achievement awards.
AmericanaFest runs September 12 – 17 in Nashville. The Americana Honors and Awards take place Wednesday, September 13 at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country will broadcast audio from the show live, as will Nashville terrestrial radio stations WRLT, WSM, and WMOT.
