ALTCO recordings is building quite a impressive amount of artist that you should take notice of. One of them is Joshua Morningstar who just released a new single on the label called “Brand New Angel,” co-written and produced by Stevie Tombstone. I was delightfully surprised of the upbeat song which is folk blended with early Sunday School testimony. After reading his bio and learning he like many of us do had demons but was lucky to fist fight the devil and win. He is a epic tale of both sides of the coin and seems like now he is on the good side creating some of the freshest music around. This track seems like Morningstar’s message to the world that he is a new man with a clean slate. Back the song it has the old timey arrangements of banjo and upbeat gospel hymns which was a huge surprise to me.
I see nothing but huge things in the future for Joshua. If this is a sign of things to come then I will be camping out waiting on the record to come out on ALTCO. I would keep my eye out on him and can’t wait to dig deeper in his catalog. Ever since I got the single from good pal Stevie Tombstone its been on loop.
