Sarah Schonert Winds Down on New Record

Sarah Schonert impresses with her latest release, An Unwinding State, which has been one of my Summer favorites for 2016. Throughout the record we experience Schonert’s experimental approach to music, showing us that she isn’t your average singer-songwriter. For fans of artists such as Imogen Heap and Kate Bush, Schonert shows a stunning album that combines various musical elements throughout. Based out of Peoria, Illinois, we see the artist create a stunning record that is truly a labor of love.

From pieces such as “Break me Down,” to “Trade My Smile,” Schonert showcases her musical abilities, and flawlessly, within each and every song. The ambient sounds are laid among beds of classical piano that intertwines and weaves throughout the record. Schonert’s voice is like a piece of heaven, as her vocals are layered and float away with an airy breeze.

For the record Schonert had written, recorded and produced the endeavor out of her home studio, which not only brings to light her talent for songwriting and performance, but for production as well. Sarah Schonert can most certainly do it all, an An Unwinding State, is a blissful record that will stand the test of time.
