Raven King Unveil New Release

With a notable new self-titled release in tow, Raven King are about to bring grunge rock back in a big way. First I was captivated by their latest video and single release, “Drool,” but as I dug deeper into the roots of the band, I was quite intrigued. On the album we hear a sound that has a bit of nostalgia mixed in with alternative roots.

The band who hails from Rhode Island, really bring their essence and influences into the mix. On the 11-track release, anything and everything is fair game. As each song seemingly (somehow) outdoes the next, I instantly fell in love with songs such as “Skins,” and “Drifiting.” They are all hard to choose from though as each song stands on their own, while working beautifully to create a cohesive and well-structured record. If this is only the beginning for Raven King, they have a lot of great things up their sleeve.
