Carlos Arzate Shows His Colors on “Camaléon”
Carlos Arzate is an electrifying delight with his latest, upcoming release, Camaléon, out April 6th. The songwriter is astonishing on his new record, as he brings his heart and soul into the release; and it is certainly notable. Building a buzz with this current single “Broken Glass,” Arzateis a breath of fresh air in the music scene. Hailing from Tucson, Arizona, the brilliant guitar riffs with the help of Ryan Alfred, dance over a bed of lyrics that take you on a musical journey like no other. His skillfully crafted songs are beyond gorgeous from start to finish, making every piece on Camaléon stand out prominently on its own. With an eclectic sound he refers to as “Sonoran Soul,” he blends elements of folk and rock nostalgia that brings a unique perspective into the world. Citing such artists as Redding, Cooke and Springsteen as influenes, Arzate takes his musical path into his own hands on the record, which each song increasingly intriguing.
Sharing of the record:
“Camaléon is a collection of songs written by Tucson Singer-Songwriter Carlos Arzate. Produced with Ryan Alfred (Sweet Ghosts, Calexico) and Gabriel Sullivan (XIXA, Giant Sand) the album features material that spans from soul filled socially conscience anthems “Broken Glass” to Spanish infused folk tales “Aye Princesa”. Camaléon is a reference to the variety of songs and styles represented on the record that features some of Tucson’s finest players. It was recorded at St. Cecilia, Landmark and Dust & Stones Studios and completed in 2017.”
His vocals are soulful and blend flawlessly within every piece as his words float like a cloud on the album. It has been nearly 2 years since we have had an album release from Arzate, and we are certainly glad he is back in action. Camaléon is out April 6, 2018.
