4th Annual Popcorn Sutton Jam 2013
Popcorn Sutton has left a impact the Appalachian mountain culture. His spirit is alive and well in the hills and hollows of beautiful Maggie Valley North Carolina.
“Popcorn was all about making some moonshine” said with out any hesitation from his wife Pam Sutton. Popcorn was the definition of a true outlaw and did it his way to the very end. American Culture embraces its outlaws and welcomes with open arms.
For the past few years a festival has been held in his honor to keep the spirit alive about the former bootlegger. This year was the fourth annual Popcorn Sutton Jam held on August 2th and 3th 2013. Its two days of live music, car shows, wood carving, clogging, good eats, celebrity and most important to remember the life of the great Popcorn Sutton.
I got to go this year and soak it all in. I got to meet alot of cool people and listening to some great music. The festival ended by the wonderful Ali Randolph and the Outta luck band who was the perfect Icing on the cake to end the night with great tributes to Popcorn. Thanks to Pam Sutton, Ali Randolph, Howling Moon Distillery, Joyce Briggs, Jon Roton, and to everyone who was so kind to me. I see y’all next year!
