I never did know Billy Marlowe, but through the songs that Steve Satterwhite New Tex Records recorded that summer on this collection, I really have grown a feeling for the man and now feel I share, in some measure, the excitement of that time.
Please find a song taken from the Newtex Records Release “Show Me the Steps” a loving tribute to the memory of his friend and the memory of a magic summer spent recording in New York in 1983.
These songs were recorded at a time when independent music had no outlet, and musicians were at the mercy of the whims of A & R deparments and industry barons, it is no longer that way, so Steve can now finally present you with the music of Billy Marlowe.
I dedicate this to my best friend Loz Moore who we all lost on the 31st of December 1983.
