One of the highlights of the Americana Music Association Festival & Conference was the Gram Parsons Notebook event at Nashville’s Hard Rock Cafe. Hard Rock, No Depression, The Gram Parsons Foundation and Sin City Social Club teamed up for a couple of hours of music, food, drink and socializing in a great setting. If you haven’t been to Hard Rock Nashville, there’s a nice performance area upstairs with a great balcony. The event was as close to a see and be seen event as you’ll find at the AMA’s (excepting, of course, the awards show).
Two things were front and center at this event. First, the notebook itself. Hard Rock had it, but didn’t know it until its archivist realized what it must be some months ago. Emails and phone calls followed and a coming out party was scheduled, with the notebook under glass literally and then figuratively, too, as iPads were passed around among attendees with the entire notebook loaded up.
