Cisco & Dewey “The Sea We Floated On”
punk band The Plugz who would later morph into the Cruzados.
The Cruzados released two albums on Arista records. Their bands wide open desert sound was a hybrid of Tex Mex and rock and roll that helped set the tone for the L.A . scene in the 80’s consisting of X, The Blasters, Los Lobos, Dwight Yoakum and more. Marsico would go on to record as a session bassist with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, Roger Daltrey, Marianne Faithful, Dr. John, Matthew Sweet among others.
It was on a session for songwriter Gerry Goffin where Marsico would first run into Darran “Dewey” Falcone who had been putting down some vocals and harmonica on the tracks. The two struck up a friendship and started writing songs together. Marsico got called on the road for the next ten years with Matthew Sweet and Dewey pulled up stakes in Los Angeles for a simpler life.
In April of 2014 Marsico started thinking about his friend Dewey and after a long search tracked his pal down who had settled into Joshua Tree, California ten years prior.
Dewey had built his house and took up racing motorcycles full time.
In May the two talked about getting back together and writing songs and by July they were ready to record with producer Tom Lavin at the board.
Cisco & Dewey are slated to release their debut album in January of 2015.
