Steve Earle on a front porch with his guitar, singing the blues. You’ve dreamed the words and phrases: hair hanging down; kisses like wine; turn your light down low. Yet Earle spins them around on you, mixes it up, dazzles — all to the tune of six strings and his clear, low bluesy voice.
“You’re The Best Lover That I Ever Had” has been out or a few months, a pre-release from the upcoming Steve Earle & The Dukes record “Terraplane” (available February 17). Yesterday, New West Records premiered the “porch recording.”
