Wintergrass Starts Today
Acoustic Sound’s annual hoedown in the Hyatt Regency kicks off as I post. Bellevue welcomes for the next three days a carefully chosen roster of performers for your listening pleasure. I’ll be on the silver bird tomorrow morning to join in the carnage. Two bands I want to boost quickly are Cahalen Morrison and Eli West. This two year old duo from Seattle has fans cheering everywhere they go. The vocals are so tight that it sounds like a brother duet.
Also hitting on all cylinders right now is the Deadly Gentlemen. This project of Dr. Gregory Lizst has been active sporadically for the last few years but now is a fulltime concern. The five piece consists of a nice slice of the young guns who have arisen in the past years. Dominic Leslie is a perfect fit on the mandolin and plays with a bad boy sneer on his mug. Mike Barnett plays terrific fiddle and sings sweet backup. Dawg pup and bass man Samson Grisman holds a steady bottom. Stash Wyslouch plays guitar, belts em out and is in many ways the visual focus of the band.
This promises to be a great weekend of music. Single day tickets still available but must be purchased at the Fest site, the swank Hyatt Regency in Bellevue. Any one else going?
Be aware of 520 bridge closure all weekend long.
