Today is the first day of winter. And you thought it arrived some time ago. Not according to the gurus of solstices and equinoxes.

Either way, it’s time to say Happy Hollandaise, and express our hope that Sanity Claus is good to you. He will be, you know, if you support and indulge in live performances of acoustic music. MAY THE FORK BE WITH YOU…
More Fork In The Road Stuff: the fork was the impetus for the biggest food drive in the history of Pasadena, bringing-in 16 pounds more than TWO TONS of food for the needy. Check out Donna Barnes-Robert’s new blog about all things Forkian. We’ve reported all about the 18-foot-high fork that appeared at, well, a fork in the road in Pasadena. It’s a birthday present for Coffee Gallery Backstage impresario Bob Stane. The Los Angeles Times has written about (with color photos) as has the Chicago Tribune, the Pasadena Star News, and various papers around the world. And four L.A. TV news broadcasts have covered it. Your editor contributed the official Forkian Salute (Bob will show you), and Guide writer Sally Seymour contributed the official slogan, “May the Fork Be with You.” It just keeps spiraling out of control.
