Angela Easterling writes Country songs. Story songs. 3rd person metaphorical songs like “Throwing Strikes”. Autobiographical and unabashed songs, like the title cut. Tales of heartache and hope. Pride and honor, shame and misfortune. Tongue in cheek comedic tales. Murder ballads. Some of this reminds me of the Carter family songbook.
Angela Easterling writes excellent Country songs.
She delivers them with a clear and beautiful voice.
Her partner on stage, in the studio, and at home, Brandon Turner plays a mean guitar and knows his way around a tune. She surrounds herself with talent like Will Kimbraugh, Fats Kaplin, Dave Jacques and Paul Griffith.
Her albums make me smile wide, and this is sounding like her best work to date. I’m liking it more every time I listen to it.
Official release for “Common Law Wife” is “sometime this summer”. Pre-order information, and more on Angela and her music, can be found at:
