Dead Rock West Share Dreamy Record, “It’s Everly Time!”
Dead Rock West is the combination of Cindy Wasserman and Frank Lee Drennen, who have become a highly regarded musical act hailing from Los Angeles. Together the two have been working with each other musically for 10 years, releasing a string of successful and intriguing records and songs. Their latest venture comes in the form of “It’s Everly Time!,” a blissful record in which the duo put a new spin on a vintage sound. The 13-track masterpiece was recorded by Grammy award winning producer, Mark Linett.
The Everly Brothers had played a crucial and important part in Frank’s and Cindy’s musical upbringing, which helped them hone their close harmonies, with a charming dose of twang to boot. A lifetime of studying harmony had lead them up to this point to create a flawless album, filled with beauty to create a unique reminder of years past.
“It’s Everly Time!,” features the lead single, “I Used to Love Her,” which I have gravitated to immediately. The timeless sentiments come to life in songs such as “It Only Costs a Dime,” which brings a classic quality to the record. A great deal of time, effort and love was put into recording “It’s Everly Time!” which definitely stands out. The group even went as far as using vintage equipment from the 1940s to be as authentic as possible. The record is an inspiring nod to the Everly Brothers, and stands to be a flattering tribute as well.
Together Dead Rock West bring a unique and retro sound to the table, one harmony at a time.
