• Devin Farney’s new EP explores endless possibilities of fusion

    Devin Farney is a musician and performer whose sound blurs the lines between jazz and fusion, making for a classic, yet colorful and dynamic twist. Recently, Farney released a new studio effort titled Seasonal Colors. The EP features five compositions which highlight Farney’s fluidity and versatility, both as a composer and as an executor of his vision.

    Seasonal Colors does a great job at answering one meaningful question: what is jazz today? If you consider jazz as a genre that favors free expression, creative freedom and thinking outside the lines, then by definition you should agree that jazz music needs to expand and explore new avenues in order to stay true to its form. This record does exactly that, bringing different styles together, as well as exploring the potential of instruments that have often been seen as unorthodox in a jazz music setting especially.

    Throughout the span of these five tracks, Farney explores the endless possibility of the genre, imprinting his own personality in a very special way.
