This L.A. based group plays what might be called roots music, or maybe its Rock & Roll, or maybe roots/rock, but whatever you want to call it, it is sweaty and low down dirty music that is going to get you up on your feet and moving and as they called it then gyrating like wild animals in heat. It is a 3 man group that plays music that proudly displays their roots; you can hear the influences of Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker, oh there is a riff that owes something to Jimmy Reed. It may be an odd name for a group, to this reviewer awkward would be more like it however who knows or cares it is the music that is important. That is what they do best.
When listening you might have to look around to make sure you aren’t in a backwoods sweaty club on the fringes of punk, soul and blues. This is what parents in the 40s and 50s were so worried about the damn music their kids were listening to would turn into, a sweaty all out orgy! With those thrashing, sweaty, gyrating bodies letting go of all this energy out on the dance floor. The going out for a smoke and getting into cars back seats and coupling it up and doing it all over again.
This is Rock and Roll.
