Justin Lacy Feels the Burn on Haunting New Release

Justin Lacy’s newest gem entitled, “Control Burn,” is a smorgasbord of colorful but dark twisted fantasies. The debut single “Sealed” is filled with a spindling guitar melody which carries the song at a brisk clip while Justin’s vocals control the tone and imagery. “Wanderlust” is a finger picking and bluesy filled narrative piece, the guitar is clean however this piece showcases delicate instrumental interplay and allowing Justin’s serviceable voice to complement rather than dominate the song. This is an essence and something special that carries throughout the record. For those who enjoy artists such as Bon Iver, Justin Lacy brings a haunting and folk sound all of his own, which heightens the musical journey. “I Don’t Need Another,” is also a standout track on the record that brings Lacy’s captivating vocals to the table. His gorgeous work flows inside of the piece like a river running strong.
Pieces such as “Weeds” is a beautiful and enchanting standout track, where Justin’s voice usher’s in a melodic, vocal driven, energy charged arrangement. The instrumentation on this track just feels amazing, the finger plucking guitar, coupled with the vocal arrangement and violins breathe life into this amazing piece. It’s evident that Justin is talented and brimming with ideas—and there are moments on this record that mark some of the best music out today.
