    Dave Hammond is a talented and versatile musician who has a truly unique approach to his sound. His music could be described as a poignant and innovative combination of various jazz styles, exploring different ideas with class and sophistication. His new album Four Canals features 10 interesting tracks, each exploring a different mood and creative direction. In addition to the excellent performance value, the musicianship and creativity of Hammond and his group really comes through in the form of some incredible improvised segments, which really provide an added sense of freedom and intuition to this release.

    The album is very well-produced, with a sound that feels rich, direct, and forward-thinking. The production aesthetics of this release really allow Hammond and his band to add more depth and clarity to their astonishing instrumentation while creating a sense of intimacy, almost making the listener feel like a fly on the wall during their performances.
