Paradise by Szandra Mayer

“Paradise” is Szandra Mayer’s second single release and already it’s becoming clear that she’s a force to reckon with on the Pop/Adult Contemporary scene at the tender age of only 11. How this can be done starts with her gifted voice and goes from there into other related talents which really-only make it seem harder. This is also a track that exceeds the first one, “Up In The Clouds,” without forgetting to compliment it, leaving no stones unturned in the process. The young artist stays grounded in her Pop style but takes her Adult/Contemporary leanings a great big step forward.
Not to compare the two releases, but to show the vast difference between them because of how fast her voice is developing into what still promises to change over the coming years. The potential is simply massive from an outside looking in perspective, as “Paradise” shows with a minimum of fuss and bother to advance to an all-around Pop classic without losing a sliver of songwriting quality to berate it. And that’s a tough detail for some to pinpoint, but it’s also a credit to this fine young talent of which there aren’t enough of to go around, and never really have been.
You can only give this song the props it deserves by hearing her first single anyway, but if not it’s just as good a place to start, because at the end of the day it’s about “Paradise” and all it offers. You get a little more out of the video because of that, so it’s pretty good once you get into it. But the track maintains on its own without the need for visuals because you can envision pretty much the same thing, which is footage of Hungary sequenced with some darkroom scenes, both featuring Mayer herself. Listening takes the edge, as usual, but don’t miss the video if you get the chance, it can be seen at the website.
There’s more to the artist than meets the ear, also which can be read more about on the internet concerning her acting and modeling work which is besides the point of reviewing her music but lends to her interesting bio and shows that she’s not only set on one goal. The sky seems to be the limit for her, and this song gets top marks on the way up, as does her previous single. The future isn’t certain, but if she stays the course it will be in better positioning. That’s really-just a fact when it comes down to the hard work involved, and it’s showing if you’re following her progress.
That said progress is not going slowly, so if you don’t keep up with Mayer, you might miss what there is to come. This artist deserves exposure far and wide, and when the music is this good, chances are she will be heard enough to gain high status at the rate of others like everyone from an early age has done. The consensus after hearing what Mayer has to offer so far, is that she will go far if she keeps up the standard she’s already bringing to the music world.
