Richard Lynch Knocks It Out Of The Park On “Pray On The Radio”
When there is massive anticipation, you can be a bit bound to disappoint because people have such tremendous expectations of you. But there are times when you deliver and the results are just outstanding. Today we’re here to talk about a case just like that; today we’re here to talk about Richard Lynch’s brand new single, Pray on the Radio.
A musician of Lynch’s stature doesn’t require much introduction, but it’s important to point out that this single was recorded in the Beaird Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, where many of Country’s finest albums were made, so that is another factor that explains Pray on the Radio’s sheer quality and musical hooks–the Nashville studios have this tendency of being a factory of hits.
Now, when discussing Country music, you must always a lot of emphasis on the vocalist’s performance because that make or break a song. And I’m not talking just about having talent as a vocalist; there a lot of talented vocalists out there, but not everyone can deliver the sentiment and meaning of the words they have to sing.
Fortunately, sentiment and delivery are two things that Lynch can do without much problem (or at least that seems to be case to me; maybe he puts too much effort on it, who knows?) and this is something he proves with Pray on the Radio, knocking it out of the park. His baritone style is marvelous to hear and it fits the song’s style and message quite well, which is a great combination of factors to make a pretty interesting song as a whole.
Inspired by a DJ that actually asked Lynch to pray with him on a radio interview, these are lyrics that can be quite revealing about the times we’re living in and I recommend you to hear this single while reading the lyrics because it can make a huge difference for you; I don’t normally ask people to read a song’s lyrics (I believe that should be based on each person’s criteria), but I think a song of this magnitude deserves a honorable exception.
There is always place in music and in life to be amazed when you think that you have done it all and Pray on the Radio is a prime example of that: a refreshing and exciting Country song that is going to leave you wanting more from Richard Lynch’s music.
