All For The Hall Los Angeles 2010 Country Music Hall Of Fame Fund Raiser
The Country Music Hall Of Fame and Museum’s second annual Los Angeles “All For The Hall” benefit concert went off at the beautiful and wonderfully intimate Club Nokia without a hitch.
To draw folks in to pay the price of admission upward of $1000 for table seating or balcony seat overlooking the event, the Museum gathered together some of the best names in Country music.
Gracing the stage were Country music Hall of Fame inductees Emmylou Harris and Kris Kristofferson, superstar Taylor Swift, Grammy Award winning R&B star Lionel Richie, and very special guest Vince Gill – who holds 18 CMA’s, 2 Grammy Awards, and was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005. The event began with Kyle Young, the Director of the Country Music Hall of Fame, making an announcement about the museum’s upcoming exhibit which will be focusing on west coast country music.
After the announcement and introduction, Kris Kristofferson opened by playing “Make it Through Tonight”, which was followed by Emmylou Harris performing her classic “If I Could Only Win Your Love”.With each strum of their guitars the anticipation and excitement of the crowd built, all in attendance knowing what’s to come. The energy of the audience was only amplified by Vince Gill’s wonderful rendition of “Red Words”.
After the strikingly memorable performance by Gill, the audience was in full country lovin’ mode, which left the door wide open for the stunningly beautiful and unarguably talented Taylor Swift. With every word Swift sang came the exhilarating roar of the crowd; there was no denying it, her fans were out in full force.
Through the screams of her fans, Swift began her new song, “Mine” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot Digital Songs chart and #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The audience now worked in to frenzy, it became very clear just how strong the feeling of connection that she gives her fans is. Swift may be a tough act to follow but the R&B legend Lionel Richie knew just what to do and took the reins opening with “Easy”, his 1977 hit from his time with The Commodores. Emmylou Harris, Kris Kristofferson, Taylor Swift, Lionel Richie, and Vince Gill all performed without a hitch. The audience was elated after having been graced with the music of these wonderful stars.
The purpose of all of this was to raise money for the Country Music Hall of Fame. Money was raised for the cause and all that were in attendance were thrilled to have been a part of it.
