    Brooklyn-based folksinger Nels Andrews has been slowly but surely building a remarkable career playing the role of the story-singing troubadour. ere, Andrews seems to finally be stretching his legs, letting each narrative tread its own path. There are ripping, distorted guitars and whimsically finger-picked acoustic instruments; dreamy, atmospheric tones, background choruses and, of course, Andrews’ own honest and earnest-with0ut-trying vocals.     Darker Than Light is the first full US album from Grammy-award winning artist Bobby Bare in 7 years. tracked at famed RCA Studio B in Nashville, with a band that includes Buddy Miller and Randy Scruggs on guitar, Byron House on bass, Marco Giovino on drums and other members of Robert Plant’s Band Of Joy. The album features Bare s inspired interpretations of songs by Bob Dylan, U2 Alejandro Escovedo (who also makes a guest appearance), Leadbelly and others, plus new originals. Now 77 and sounding better than ever, Bobby Bare has earned over 30 Top 20 hits, a Grammy award and multiple Grammy nominations in a career that spans over 50 years.
