For close to thirty years now, Canada’s Blue Rodeo has taken the road less traveled – and succeeded far beyond anyone’s expectations. The band emerged in the early 80’s as a countrified rock band in the era of hair metal and glossy pop. And now, in the digital age, while everyone else is thinking of ways to sell single songs through the internet or snippets of songs on cell phones. In Our Nature, was recorded primarily at Greg Keelor’s farm studio and with the addition of guitarist/singer Colin Cripps to the line-up, the band is now a seven piece.

‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ Original Soundtrack Recording (Nonesuch)

The movie was written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and follows a week in the life of a young folk singer as he navigates the Greenwich Village folk scene of 1961. Llewyn Davis (Oscar Isaac) is at a crossroads. Guitar in tow, huddled against the unforgiving New York winter, he is struggling to make it as a musician against seemingly insurmountable obstacles some of them of his own making. Brimming with music performed by Isaac and Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan, as well as Marcus Mumford and Punch Brothers. The album includes 12 new recordings made for the film plus an existing recording by Dave Van Ronk and a never-before-released version of Bob Dylan performing his song “Farewell.”
