• Announcing: The Winners of NYC’s 2nd Annual Battle of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Bands

    Congratulations to the winners in our Battle of the Bands: Dive Bar Dukes, Do it to Julia! and Gold Top County Ramblers! The Dukes took the crown and are headed to the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco. The audience award went to The Defibulators. Thanks to all the bands for participating and for your amazing performances!

     

    If you’re an NYC-area bluegrass fan and weren’t able to make it to our sold-out Battle on the Bands, join us next Sunday for the Febraury edition of the Steam Powered Hour at our regular venue, the Jalopy Theatre & School of Music. Great music and comedy, as you’ve come to expect.

     

    This month’s show includes music by The Manhattan Valley Ramblers, Hilary Hawke & the Flipsides, comedy by Michael Kepperman (cartoonist, “one of the best comedy brains on the planet” according to Conan O’Brien) and J.R. Havlan (comedian, writer for the Daily Show). Hosted as always by New Yorker cartoonist, Matthew Diffee.
