Another Day
Lot of people feelin’ it these days. Republicans blaming the situation on Democrats. Democrats blaming the situation on Republicans. Independents blaming them both. Lots of people out of work or living with less because they’re afraid. Even though we have cellphones w/ texting , twitter, Facebook and who knows what else, peope are more isolated than ever. A nation of angry, lonely people who don’t know what’s next. The world is changing and they’re not included or don’t feel included.
This happened to a buddy of mine. He was a middle-aged guy who could aways hustle up a gig and make it happen for him until it all started unravelling. He turned inward, got angrier and angrier and in Sept. 2007, he cleaned up his home, made out a wil,l put a copy in his pocket along with instructions on identifying him for and who to contact. He walked down to a nearby Gas Station, asked for the key to the restroom, went in and blew his brains out.
Other people direct their anger outward. Its hard to deal with changes in the world and easy to feel left behind. I’ve felt that and I’m sure many others have and will feel it. Thankfully, most people just hunker down till it goes away. I wrote the song Another Day(you can find it on the Reverbnation player on my profile page or at http://reverbnation.com/joegorfinkle ) about my buddy Steve. Seems like these days its about a lot more folks . . .if you feel that way , know that there are many others around who feel the same and talk to them. Hard times don’t last forever.
